No adds, just straight boss fights, no bs. Leveled a new advance class and want to get familiar with it so you can run with your guild/friends through harder content? EC is your new place to practice. Wanna get a feel for your new button layout, or just want to keep your edge, go EC for practice. See how your designs of the chosen hero work in a real time experience, versus static target dummies. You can test specs out in instant raid boss level of challenge. Tired of practicing on the target dummy, or having to do the same raid over n over with the group, or cant even get into a raid? Eternal Championship is our friend. So with that being said, for veterans there is a benefit as well. New players however, now have two additional methods of getting gear stuffs (new comm vendor on fleet). The rewards are decorative, and unless you have a niche interest in the gear appearances, arent very veteran friendly. Well done, the Championship did what it was designed to do! its a mid point, not end game. Never raided before, no real life combat training - its definitely going to be overwhelming for sure! The championship, once they have gotten that far, along with making friends, joining guilds and hopefully doing pugs, will provide them the insight and preparation needed to get them started on harder stuff. Sure many of us who have been mmo raiding for years if not decades can walk in, but imagine a young person 15, 18, or maybe 20+ for their first time checking out this mmo thing they talk about and since they love star wars, they chose SWTOR.

Learning how to move, manage distance (close or far), understand different roles in the battlefield (trinity of tank, heals and dps) and how each is necessary in specific situations will better equip new players, which much of kotfe is already geared towards attracting and doing. These 10 bosses will drastically improve a trained characters performance in current and upcoming events. Henceforth, this allows guilds and individuals to bypass flashpoint training, which wastes alot of time of adds and map navigation and going directly to the boss fights. As such,m practice makes perfect, muscle memory is very important, but being able to stay alive and keep up focus are key skills players need to continue onward through content. While avoiding bosses, adds and engaging in situational awareness, dps drastically drops - as you have to be capable of dynamic action and thought, rather than robotic button mashing. *Hitting a stationary target (target dummy) does not provide anything useful other than knowing a player has their optimal rotation down. This is a good thing all around, and players themselves can even self-prepare if they are not familiar with MMO raiding. The Championship now provides a better medium between actual operation dps checks and simple dummy checks by providing live, interactive, farmable, repeatable, bosses with mechanics that prepare a player for introduction to harder content (operations). Our raid ops would run the flashpoint, Lost Island, consistently for new players to assist them in learning how to do boss mechanics and such.
Ive been here since launch and cleared all content upon release. My guild (for example) farms all HM's and progress NiMs in post-4.0. Doing Flashpoints has served as a long term medium to determine if a player is raid ready. What I mean by mid check is simply this an entry level player seeking to do endgame content can parse on a dummy easily and get "perfect numbers", yet may not parse so well under fire. (It would be nice to possibly get championship season rewards changed every 3 or 6 months, that would be fun!).Īs it stands the Championship serves as an active player mid check. The tuning is just right, the challenge level is just right, and the rewards are decent enough to earn a go. First and foremost, it is my assertion that this content has been perfectly implemented. * NOTE : Spoilers are throughout this, so use common sense, thanks!Ī few pointers before we get started. In the meantime, for those interested, this thread will drastically increase your overall gameplay experience, and your ability to overcome the Eternal Championship. Moderation will be strictly applied to those attempting to do so otherwise.
